Who gets the trips, and who gets the ice cream?

Our students and staff are drafted to one of four Houses, where they compete in sports, talent shows, spelling bees, marking period grades, and other fun events throughout the school year.  Our final and most intense competition is Field Day, a day filled with sports, barbecue, and dancing.  At the end of the year, the winning House gets a special trip and a trophy, while the House in last place gets ice cream!

Our House system instills a sense of community, belonging, and pride in our students and staff.  Each House teacher takes a special interest in their students' academic and social well being, and becomes a mentor and advocate for those students.  Each student remains in the same House for their four years at AOHT, and our House competitions and events become long lasting memories for our students once they graduate and move on in life.
